But what about the white dudes!

The fact is, minorities in general atheism have been lied to on a regular basis. “Oh sure, join us, atheism is for everyone!” And then the actions would contradict the words. Over and over. And we’d point that out, only to be told that we’re the ones in the wrong, not the ones excluding us.

So now, we’re going to make a space where, sure, nobody’s going to feel perfectly comfortable (though it’d be nice if we all could), but we’re definitely not going to let things slide to the point where the same people who had taken over general atheist dialog get to also take over Atheism+ dialog.

That’s going to involve a lot of push-back. And that push-back will look ugly sometimes. Could it possibly chase all white dudes out of A+? Maybe… but they’ve always had general atheism to call home, and as soon as they actually start letting us in with their actions, then we won’t even need an A+ to call a separate home at all.
