Often American women depend on Planned Parenthood for medical care. It’s like doctors and stuff. Otherwise many women can’t afford basic care. Period.
It’s come to my attention–as a woman–that there are people who would like to stop funding for Planned Parenthood.
Ok. Ok. People can believe what they want. But if you’re a man who doesn’t care about women’s sexual health. Then that is duly f*cking noted. And there’s nothing less hot than a man who doesn’t care about vaginas. My vagina, for your intents and purposes, is off the table. Period.
I’m not saying that people who oppose basic funding for women’s health care can go f*ck themselves. But, as far as I’m concerned, they won’t have any other options.
Vagina havers: Does your sexual partner support vaginas? If not, tell him how he can go get f*cked. Alone.

…if I see one more news organization allow Republicans to claim that they are worried about preventing tax dollars from funding abortions, I will lose it.
Tax dollars cannot go to abortions. This has been true for over thirty years. Everyone in the House is supposed to know this, because it is a law and they are legislators.
Don’t let anyone you talk to get away with this bullshit. It isn’t true. They are trying to defund the other 97% of Planned Parenthood, which is preventative health care. That’s what this temper tantrum is about.
This is how I feel about the issue 97% of the time.

Anyway, the article is all about how you—yes, YOU, thin human person!—can help your fat friends, family members, and coworkers lose weight by “being supportive” and telling them that just by looking at their fat bodies, you can tell they are unhealthy and about to die.[K]eep the conversation loving and positive.

I want you to be around a long time.”I know nothing makes me feel more loved and sounds more positive than someone armchair diagnosing my health and predicting my imminent demise!
There is exactly one fool-proof way to be supportive of a fat person: Listen to them and give them what they need.
If they don’t ask for your help, they don’t want it. The End.

I’ve heard people say “but if it weren’t for others shaming me/my own self-shaming, I wouldn’t have gotten off my fat ass and started losing weight!” First off, this is a classic example of the cause masquerading itself as the cure. The fat-shaming was the CAUSE of the person viewing hirself as “too fat”, and without that, there would have been no need to lose weight in the first place.
“But wait, what about medical health reasons?” you may ask. Shouldn’t family and friends care about the health of the fat person? Well, yes. That’s why the thin person should go to the doctor yourself for a regular physical check-up. And then, once having done that, now you are free to say “hey friend, I just got my annual physical, and I think you should too, as I value your health”.
If your friend goes and comes back healthy, then that’s it. End of discussion (till next year). If ze comes back with low blood iron or high cholesterol or some other condition (which may or may not be fat-related!), then you may then adopt a supportive role (which may or may not involve weight loss).
BTW, some fat people may have difficulty getting an honest physical examination done. This is because doctors are human, and as such, are themselves prone to giving airmchair diagnoses to people they deem visibly overweight. It’s sad, but it’s reality.

A little while back, someone on Atheist Nexus asked about rights during pregnancy: “Smoking, drinking, serious drugs, whatever else you can think of that could harm the child in utero. Because the baby is going to be a person and anything you do will affect them when they qualify as human does it constitute a crime or child abuse to do things which will damage its cognitive development, or other parts of its development?”
But with this new research, it’s not just pregnant women, it’s any person who could possibly get pregnant ever. Are we going to hijack people’s entire lives and force them to reduce themselves to breeding machines? Tell people their personal choices don’t matter, because they might have a child, and if they do, then they’ve essentially doomed that child to diabetes and obesity? Maybe we should have people produce their proof-of-sterility certificate before they’re allowed to purchase Twinkies.
