Privilege Denying - You're Doing it Wrong!
Massive trigger warning on this, folks - unfounded, poisonous hatred needs it.
To you I submit this LOVELY twitter account! Privilege Denying Trans located at @trannyprivilege on twitter! Completely with pictures that are transphobic [Mod; maybe not best word, transhatred is better.] and vast assumptions about what trans women think! Binarism, assumptions, and overall gender fail at it’s finest! Because it’s totally okay to mock trans* people and gender variant people and their identities if they represent a privileged mindset!

Maybe people have forgotten what the word “privilege” means, so I’m going to offer a refresher course.
- Innocence: The person is not looked to as the cause of problems in society.
- Worthiness: The person is presumed worthy of society’s trust and wealth.
- Competence: The person is expected to be skillful, successful, and autonomous.

So, do trans women have privilege*? Let’s check the items off the list.
- Innocence: The trans women is looked to as the cause of problems in society.
- Worthiness: The trans woman is not presumed worthy of society’s trust and wealth.
- Competence: The trans woman can sometimes be expected to be skillful, successful, and autonomous.
Out of three possible points of privilege, only one can apply some of the time to some trans women, if you consider becoming objects of stereotypically female grace and beauty to be “success”. I personally would straight-up give trans women zero out of three privilege points.
Thus, when people complain about trans women having supposed “trans privilege” and attempt to set them up as the oppressors in society, not only is this showing complete lack of understanding, it’s actually a form of anti-trans propaganda. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/propaganda Especially when we turn that list around on cis people (commonly mis-referred to as “normal” people) to see where the real privilege lies:

*This isn’t to say that a white trans woman can’t have white privilege, but that’s not the topic of this post.

My fridge is so full I have to reach way back
And my sports car doesn’t even have an audio jack
My laptop’s battery is low but my charger is over there
I can never find the right lid for my Tupperware
I woke up at noon, do I eat breakfast or lunch?
I don’t like organic milk and I don’t have fruit punch

My hot water ran out in the shower, which sucks cause I was only in there for half an hour

There’s some cereal left but not enough to make a bowl

My cleaning lady is vacuuming I can’t hear a thing
I didn’t read ‘Shake Well’ now I feel like I missed out
When I opened my birthday card no money fell out
I meant to turn on the light but it was the disposal
My Vespa’s in the shop, now how can I be mobile
Net flicks is suggesting things I already seen
And my suit is too fancy for the washing machine
There’s a pebble in my shoe, I have to stop and shake it
I have to add water to this cup cake mix and then bake it?
My pillow is too soft and I have too many sheets
And what the heck do I do with all these Starbucks receipts
My walking closet door is kind of hard to close
And my private school teacher calls my rap songs prose
My fridge doesn’t have a touch screen its a first world issue
Killed a Spider with a dollar cause I didn’t have a tissue. -
My boyfriend tells me he thinks that in some cases, rape victims are partially to blame for their rapes; for example if they didn’t take “enough” precautionary measures. I tell him how upsetting it is for me to hear this, because it means if I were ever to get raped, I’ll know he thinks I’m partially to blame for it, because I “wasn’t careful enough.”
He then gets mad at me for making him feel guilty for sharing his opinion, telling me that if this is how I’m going to act every time he expresses his thoughts, he won’t want to open up to me.

But guess what happens when women take note of his sort of attitude and adopt a Schrodinger’s Rapist mentality? They’re to blame in that situation too!
